Import from IMDb

Export your IMDb CSVs (ratings, watchlist, lists) and import movies and TV shows into dejaVu.

IMDb is still where a lot of history lives. dejaVu imports export CSVs: ratings, watchlist / favorites, and personal lists — movies and TV.

What gets imported

IMDb does not export episode-level history as finely as Trakt. If you track shows episode by episode elsewhere, combine this with Trakt import.

1. Export your IMDb files

IMDb exports one CSV per list type:

  • Ratings: open Your Ratings, click the three dots, then Export.
  • Favorites / watchlist: same menu on that list, then Export.
  • Lists: open each personal list and export it the same way.

Keep the .csv files as they are.

2. Create a dejaVu account

Sign up at dejaVu.plus. No credit card.

3. Drop the CSVs in the wizard

Open Import, choose IMDb, and drop one or more CSVs. The wizard usually detects ratings, favorites, and lists. If it cannot tell favorites from a personal list, it will ask you to set the type (and the list name).

You can import several files at once, then confirm.

4. Check movies and TV

The preview often splits movies and shows. Make sure titles match what you had on IMDb. dejaVu resolves IMDb IDs to TMDB so posters and metadata show up.

Confirm the import. Depending on size, it takes seconds to a few minutes.
